About Me

My name is Deb. I am a woman ready for what’s next in her life! There are so many places and people to meet; so many landscapes and sunsets to experience; so much to learn from each other!!

If asked I would say that my most important work to date has been in the role of being a mother to my four children.  The rewards continue to be immeasurable as each of these wonderful people explore and create their worlds, inspiring me through their curiosity, to reach for more :)

I started my career in the Marketing and Events field, however more recently, I have being working in the area of Personal Coaching, Training, and Workshop Facilitation.  I have a keen interest in personal and professional development of people, especially women.  My personal vision speaks to helping others discover and embrace their own unique personage, and then helping them step into it. I have attempted to bring my passion for helping people to all of my coaching and training opportunities in an effort to inspire and encourage the self-development of others.  During the past four years I have been working primarily with aboriginal communities in Western Canada to deliver personal and professional development training programs. This experience has contributed to my appreciation for diversity and culture, both here in Canada and abroad.

I have also had opportunity to travel the past few years; Belize, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, Panama, Turkey, Peru, and most recently Indonesia…. I love the world, and I never feel as alive as I do when I am exploring a new place.  A couple of years ago I had the chance to travel alone….and it was wonderful! It was the first time in my life that I had been somewhere and not had to worry about accommodating someone else.  I was extremely liberating and the opportunities for reflection were invaluable! I had the unique opportunity of working in a Bazaar in Istanbul and travel throughout Turkey where an incredible thing happened; I got to know some of the local folks J, and I am so fortunate to have met these incredible people. Being someone who prefers to celebrate and build on things people have in common, as opposed to our differences, I treasured the experience. As a human race we have so much to learn from one another if we just allow it to happen. Even with language and cultural barriers, we share so many commonalities with people everywhere.

My passion for women, my love of travel, and my career in the self-development field comes together in my newest venture, WalkAboutwoman. I look forward to the opportunity to bring together the experience, wisdom and gifts of women from every walk of life, to inspire and learn from one another.

I look forward to meeting you my friend :)
